Abhishek Sharma Breaks Silence On Shaheen Afridi & Haris Rauf's Behavior

In the Asia Cup 2025 Super 4 clash between India and Pakistan, Indian opener Abhishek Sharma caught everyone's attention with his explosive innings. He scored 74 runs off just 39 balls and, along with Shubman Gill, shared a 105-run partnership for the first wicket. He didn't like the unreasonable anger and aggressive attitude of the Pakistani players. After the match, Abhishek said,

"Today it was very simple, the way they were coming at us for no reason. I didn't like it at all, and this is the only way I could give them medicine."

During the match, Abhishek and Gill also had some altercations with Pakistani fast bowlers Haris Rauf and Shaheen Afridi. But the Indian batsmen responded with their bats on the field.

Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill have been good friends not only on the field but since childhood. They have played cricket together since school. Abhishek said,

"We've been playing since school. We enjoy each other's company. We thought we would do it, and today was the day. The way he was giving it back, I really enjoyed it."

He also mentioned that he receives full support from the team, which boosts his confidence.

"It's because the team supports me. That's the intent I show, and I'm practicing really hard, and if it's my day, I'm going to win it for my team," he added.

Captain Suryakumar Yadav said that Abhishek and Gill support each other incredibly well. He said,

"They complement each other really well (Abhishek and Gill). It's like a fire and ice combination," said Suryakumar and added in half-jest that fielding coach T. Dilip will mail the players about dropping four catches while fielding.

Suryakumar was happy that the team did not give up even after a slow start in the first 10 overs. he said

The way the boys are stepping up in every game, it's making my job very easy. The boys showed a lot of character.

"They were calm after the first 10 overs. After drinks, I told them the game starts now."
