The rising star of the Indian cricket team and left-arm fast bowler Arshdeep Singh made history in the Asia Cup 2025 clash against Oman. After getting dropped in the five-match test series against England and then in the 2 games of the ongoing tournament against UAE and Pakistan, now he gets a chance against Oman and completes the milestone of 100 T20I wickets for India. In the match against Oman, Arshdeep took his 100th T20I wicket of his career, becoming the first Indian bowler to do so. The Group A match between India and Oman was played at the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Friday, September 19th. Arshdeep Singh's first wicket in this match marked his century in T20I cricket, achieving this feat in just his 64th match, which added a new chapter to Indian cricket history.

Arshdeep made his T20I debut for India in July 2022. Within just three years, he has taken 100 T20I wickets. This achievement is a testament to his consistency and lethal bowling. Arshdeep has taken four wickets in an innings twice in his career and has rescued India from difficult situations on numerous occasions. Following Arshdeep, leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal is second on the list, with 96 wickets in 80 matches. Hardik Pandya is third, with 96 wickets in 114 matches. Chahal's absence from the team now gives Hardik Pandya a chance to reach 100 wickets.

Arshdeep has made significant contributions to India since the beginning of his career. He participated in the 2022 Asia Cup (UAE) and, in the same year, took the highest number of wickets for India in the T20 World Cup 2022. He also finished the T20 World Cup 2024 as Team India's most successful bowler, taking 17 wickets in eight innings. This achievement by Arshdeep Singh is extremely significant for Indian cricket. Jasprit Bumrah has long been considered India's most reliable fast bowler, but now Arshdeep has proven himself to be the man to lead India's bowling attack in the future.
