Former Indian skipper Kapil Dev has opened up on the much-anticipated India-Pakistan clash in the 2025 Asia Cup and stated that people should stop making it a big issue and let the government do their job and the players focus on their own. Since the start of the Asia Cup 2025, the archrivals' clash has become a major concern among fans and a topic of debate about whether India and Pakistan should play with each other or not. This will be the first time after the Pahalgam incident that both the teams will be clashing against each other.

As per the latest reports, an appeal was made in the supreme court to boycott the India vs. Pakistan clash, but the court has rejected the plea, and the match will be happening on September 14, Sunday, in Dubai.

In a latest interaction with media, Kapil Dev said,

"Just go and win. Those whose job is to play should just focus on playing—there's no need to say anything else. Don't make this a big issue. The government will do its job, and the players should do theirs."

The last time India and Pakistan played a bilateral series was in the year 2012-13, and since then they haven't played due to political tensions and security concerns.

Team India started their campaign with an easy win against UAE by 9 wickets. Speaking on India's win, Kapil Dev said,

"The team is very good and has secured an impressive victory. We hope they bring the trophy home."
