Virat Kohli Breaks Silence On Stampede After RCB's Maiden Title Victory
The Indian star batter and RCB's former skipper, Virat Kohli, breaks silence on the Chinnaswamy Stadium stampede after their maiden IPL 2025 title victory. On June 4, RCB's title celebrations turned out to be the most dangerous nightmare of their life. In the celebrations, nearly two and a half lakh people came to the stadium to see the glimpse of Virat Kohli and the team. This chaos and mismanagement killed 11 people and left many injured. Last month in August, RCB posted on their social media account a compensation post of Rs 25 lakhs each to the families of those who lost their lives in the incident.
Recently, Virat Kohli, in an emotional message, showed his support to the families who became the victims on the day and lost their loved ones.
It stated,
"Nothing in life really prepares you for a heartbreak like June 4th. What should've been the happiest moment in our franchise's history... turned into something tragic. I've been thinking of and praying for the families of those we lost and for our fans who were injured. Your loss is part of our story now. Together, we will move forward with care, respect, and responsibility."
The official inquiry into the incident stated the lack of proper management of the overwhelming crowd in Bengaluru. After this whole incident, RCB made their social media comeback after the long wait of 3 months. RCB has now announced a compensation of Rs 25 lakh each to the families of the deceased and opted to take some steps.
They also launched a foundation named RCB Cares, where they have promised to work closely with stadium authorities, league partners, and sporting bodies.
