Glad He’s Listening: Brad Haddin Responds Strongly To Sunil Gavaskar’s Criticism

Brad Haddin's strong reply to Sunil Gavaskar on putting up his views

In the last few years, Sunil Gavaskar has emerged as a strong voice who speaks openly on issues related to Indian cricket. But this time he seemed angry because some foreign players were giving their opinion on the selection of the Indian team. Gavaskar did not like the fact that players from outside India are interfering in the matters of Indian cricket and are gaining popularity by speaking their views on social media.

The reason for his anger was Shreyas Iyer not getting a place in the Indian team for the Asia Cup 2025, on which some foreign cricketers criticized the BCCI.

Brad Haddin's Reply to Gavaskar

After Gavaskar's sharp comment, former Australian wicketkeeper Brad Haddin also responded. He said on his YouTube show,

"It is good that Gavaskar is listening to us. We are now going around the world."

Haddin said that he is just giving his opinion, which is part of his job. He said that he himself has worked with Iyer in the IPL and was surprised that Iyer was not selected for the team. He praised Iyer's leadership and playing under pressure and said that even though the other players are also good, he found it strange that Iyer was left out.

Indian team selection is only India's matter—Sunil Gavaskar

Sunil Gavaskar wrote in clear words in his column that foreign players, who have nothing to do with Indian cricket, should avoid speaking on matters like team selection. He wrote,

"No matter how big a player they have been and no matter how many times they have played in India, the selection of the Indian team is entirely India's matter."

Gavaskar believes that the comments of foreign players fuel unnecessary debate, and this can worsen the situation.
