Suresh Raina Backs RR Power-Hitter Over CSK Star for Team India

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 turned out to be a game-changing season for Rajasthan Royals youngster Vaibhav Suryavanshi. He gained popularity through IPL's first match and now is quite famous for his incredible knocks worldwide.

Vaibhav, in his debut season for Rajasthan Royals (RR) in IPL 2025 at the young age of just 14, smashed incredible knocks and a brilliant century. The youngster is now getting fame for his knocks and aggression in the whole world.

Recently, in a podcast, former Indian and CSK star player Suresh Raina chose Vaibhav Suryavanshi over Chennai Super Kings star Ayush Mhatre. Raina picked the RR star due to the X-factor and his ability to score runs.

Raina said,

"Vaibhav Suryavanshi. His fearless approach is different. Mhatre is also good, but Vaibhav has the X-factor; such talents are rare. He recently scored a ton in England and scored a century in the IPL. It shows this player from Bihar proves "ek Bihari sab pe bhari" (one from Bihar is heavier than all). Nobody knew Samastipur; a player from a village showed his potential."

Raina also praised him for his outstanding knocks in U-19 games against England in the recently concluded series.

He said,

"There was a coach from Bihar who told me that he looked after him. Such players come once in a century, whether it's Rishabh Pant, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, or Rinku Singh. Ayush Mhatre, at the age of 17, right from the very first match (for CSK), whatever he has done has been impressive."
