His innings included 14 fours and 1 six. After scoring a century, he did not celebrate much; he just quietly picked up his bat and hugged his partner standing at the other end. He was out after scoring 111 runs in 141 balls when he was stumped by leg spinner Shubham Agrawal. Shaw was earlier a part of the Mumbai team, but recently he has joined Maharashtra. He has taken this step to bring his career back on track.

At one time Shaw was considered the future of India. Both his captaincy and batting in the Under-19 World Cup received a lot of praise. After this, he scored a century in his Test debut for India and made a lot of headlines. But as time passed, questions started being raised on both Shaw's form and fitness. The Mumbai team dropped him from the Ranji Trophy last season. Then he was not selected in the Vijay Hazare Trophy as well.
