The Ganesh Chaturthi festival was celebrated with great excitement in India on Wednesday. Along with common people, cricketers were also not behind in this festival. Many big cricketers brought the idol of Ganesh ji into their homes and shared pictures on social media. But the post that caught most of the attention was Prithvi Shaw's.

Shaw celebrated Ganesh Chaturthi on this special occasion with social media influencer Akriti Agarwal. He shared three pictures, in two of which he and Akriti were seen with the idol of Lord Ganesha. The pictures went viral on the internet as soon as they were shared, and fans made various comments. Someone wrote "So pretty," while someone said, "Sending our love."

Shaw, who is active on social media, is also trying to make a comeback in the cricket field these days. Recently he started playing for the Maharashtra team and scored a brilliant century in the very first match. This match was of the Buchi Babu Tournament, which was played against Chhattisgarh in Chennai. In this match, Shaw completed his century in the first innings in 122 balls. His innings included 14 fours and 1 six. After scoring a century, he did not celebrate much; he just quietly picked up his bat and hugged his partner standing at the other end. He was out after scoring 111 runs in 141 balls when he was stumped by leg spinner Shubham Agrawal. Shaw was earlier a part of the Mumbai team, but recently he has joined Maharashtra. He has taken this step to bring his career back on track.

At one time Shaw was considered the future of India. Both his captaincy and batting in the Under-19 World Cup received a lot of praise. After this, he scored a century in his Test debut for India and made a lot of headlines. But as time passed, questions started being raised on both Shaw's form and fitness. The Mumbai team dropped him from the Ranji Trophy last season. Then he was not selected in the Vijay Hazare Trophy as well. He did take part in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 tournament, but the bat did not speak much there either. He scored only 197 runs. After this, the biggest shock came when no team bought him in the IPL 2024 auction.

This was the first time Shaw did not find any buyer. Earlier, he was definitely a part of some team in every IPL. Now that he has started playing for Maharashtra and has scored a century in his debut match, it could be a new beginning for him. His fans also hope that Shaw will soon return to form and the doors of Team India can open for him again.

Shaw's comeback is also special because he has worked a lot on himself off the field as well. Be it fitness or his mental state, he is looking more calm and focused than before. A positive energy is now visible in his social media posts as well. His post on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi and the century on the field after that—both proved that Shaw still has a lot of cricket left in him. If he keeps working hard like this, he can be seen in the Indian jersey once again. Now it remains to be seen how he performs in the upcoming domestic tournaments. But he has made a great start.
