Not Watching The Match At All: Ex Indian Cricketer's Bold Take On IND vs PAK Clash In Asia Cup 2025
Former Indian cricketer Manoj Tiwary stated that he won't be watching the upcoming India vs Pakistan clash in the Asia Cup 2025. The tournament is all set to kick off on September 9 in the UAE, where India's campaign will start on September 10. The clash between neighboring countries will take place on September 14 at the Dubai International Stadium. This will be the first time when both the countries will be clashing with each other after the Pahalgam terrorist attack.
Ahead of such an exciting clash for which every Indian fan is always excited, this time there has been backlash from the same fans, who don't want to see the Indian team competing with Pakistan.
To which the former cricketer Tiwary expressed disappointment about the clash, questioning whether they have forgotten about the innocent civilians who lost their lives in the Pahalgam attack recently this year.
He said,
"I am a little surprised that this match is going to happen. After the Pahalgam attack, in which so many innocent civilians were killed, and then the war that followed, there was a lot of talk that this time we will give a befitting reply. Despite this, after a few months, everything has been forgotten. I find it hard to believe that this match is happening, that the value of a human life can be zero."
Further, he said,
"What do they want to achieve by playing with Pakistan? The value of a human life should be more than sports. There is no question of me watching the match at all."
Recently, the Indian government made it clear that India won't be playing any bilateral series with Pakistan. But they can participate in multinational events such as world cups or Olympics.
In the Asia Cup, India and Pakistan are both placed in the same group, which is Group A. In this group the hosts, UAE and Oman, are also included.
