Former Team Indian player Suresh Raina seems to be in big trouble as of now. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has summoned the player in connection with the investigation of illegal betting platforms and has asked him to appear at the Delhi office on Wednesday, August 13. According to reports, the ED will record statements from Raina in the betting app 1xBet case. Earlier, the Mumbai-based ED investigation team raided a total of 15 places in Mumbai, Delhi-NCR, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Madurai, and Surat to unearth the racket behind the betting app called 'Parimatch.' The investigation was started in the year 2024 on the basis of a case registered at the Mumbai Cyber Police Station.

Reports have stated that Suresh Raina is accused of promoting betting apps. In December last year, 1xBet made Raina its brand ambassador. At that time the company had said that this partnership with Raina would inspire sports lovers to bet responsibly. Although the central government had banned these apps, these platforms continued their activities under different names. Due to celebrity promotion, their promotion increased rapidly, and popularity also increased. Suresh Raina's name came up in this case.

Investigation has revealed that these platforms have earned about Rs 2000 crore. According to reports, this amount was withdrawn in the form of small amounts through crypto wallets and ATMs in an area of Tamil Nadu. In this connection, recently there was news that ED had decided to send notices to former Team India players Suresh Raina, Harbhajan Singh, and Yuvraj Singh. It has been said that these players have been seen promoting different betting apps on social media.
