Asia Cup 2025: Did Hardik Pandya, Shreyas Iyer & Suryakumar Yadav Clear The Fitness Test?

Big update on Hardik Pandya, Shreyas Iyer & Suryakumar Yadav ahead of Asia Cup 2025

The Asia Cup 2025 is all set to kick off on UAE soil starting from 9th September, and it will last for about 21 days. This time all the big cricketers of Asia will come to show their flair in this tournament. India is fully prepared to defend the title with its team, but the biggest question of the team's success at the moment is the fitness of the players. Especially since there are three players whose fitness reports are being eyed by the team management and fans—Hardik Pandya, Shreyas Iyer, and Suryakumar Yadav.

The Indian team's all-rounder Hardik Pandya has been in the news for some time regarding his fitness. Right now he is giving a fitness test at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru. The results of his fitness test to be held on 11 and 12 August are going to come, on the basis of which it will be decided whether he will be available for the Asia Cup or not. Hardik had also informed about his arrival at NCA on social media, which shows that he is fully committed to this test. His fitness is very important for Team India, as he is an important all-rounder for the team, and his return will strengthen both the batting and bowling of the team.

Middle-order batsman Shreyas Iyer has successfully passed his fitness test. His test was conducted between 27 and 29 July. Iyer has raised hopes of a comeback in the team by performing well in the IPL and domestic tournaments. His last T20 International match was in 2023, but due to his consistent good form, he is likely to be included for the Asia Cup. His presence can further strengthen the Indian middle order, especially when the team needs consistency from its batsmen.

Team India captain Suryakumar Yadav is not fully fit at the moment. He underwent a hernia operation in early June, after which his recovery process began. Suryakumar will take at least one more week under the supervision of the team physio and medical staff to be fully fit. He is still working on his physical therapy and fitness at the NCA. If his recovery happens on time, India will have high expectations from his bat as their key batsman.
