The Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy series was all a roller coaster for Team India and especially for Mohammed Siraj. From losing the Lord's Test with the margin of just 22 runs, where they could have won, to winning the fifth and final test at the Oval by just 6 runs, the series came in a full circle for Siraj. In the Lord's Test, Siraj tried his best to defend off the bowling of Shaoib Bashir; however, destiny had other plans, and the ball rolled back onto the stumps and the bails fell. The pacer gave his all in the series, played all 5 tests, bowled 185.3 overs, took 23 wickets, took two 5-wicket hauls, and emerged as the highest wicket taker in the series.

Test Cricket is a thing that teaches us many things and tests our patience. However, Team India went through losses in the Headingley and Lord's Tests, but the thrilling wins at Edgbaston and Oval healed the other two losses. By winning the Oval Test, Shubman Gill & Co. have leveled up the series, making it a 2-2.

The win at the Oval was not an easy one. Siraj was once again in the headlines when he failed to grab the catch off Harry Brook at the boundary lines. The right-handed batter went off for a pull shot on the spell of Prasidh Krishna but got a chance after Siraj's failed attempt. Siraj did take the catch flawlessly, but his foot touched the boundary line, and after that his reaction was something that can't be forgotten. After that Harry Brook, the 26-year-old, went on to score a century, scoring 111 runs.

Siraj, who was awarded as the Player of the Match, has now revealed that he was unable to sleep after Day 4, as his mind was stuck on thinking about the catch of Harry Brook.

He said,

"To be honest, I cannot describe my emotions. When I was going to sleep after stumps on Day 4, I kept thinking about the dropped catch of Harry Brook. I was just thinking, 'How could I have done such a thing?' If I had taken it cleanly, we wouldn't be here right now. We would have been chilling in our hotel rooms."

In the absence of Jasprit Bumrah, Siraj led the bowling attack very tremendously, playing a crucial role in the Oval test.

Further, he said,

"But I guess it was God's plan. The result is there for everyone to see. I woke up in the morning, and I knew that I could make it happen. I always had the belief in myself. I put the 'believe' wallpaper on my phone. I just want to thank everyone. Every batter and bowler, hats off to them. This comeback was crazy."

There's one dialogue that came from Siraj after winning the T20 World Cup 2024 stating,

"I only believe in Jassi Bhai," and now it's time to change the dialogue and realize his importance.

Further, he also added,

"I missed Jassi Bhai. He has a different presence about himself. I only believe in Jassi Bhai and myself."
