Akash Deep Receives Strict warning From The England Coach After Send Off To Ben Duckett
In the ongoing five-match test series between England and India, there's not a single match that did not give fans any fun banter or heated moments in the game. The same thing happened in the fifth test at the Oval, where players of both teams exchanged some words.
On Day 2 of the fifth test, Ben Duckett received a send-off from Akash Deep after the dismissal, with an arm on his shoulder as he was returning back to the pavilion. However, another England left-hand batsman praised the southpaw opener for his patience, stating that Akash was lucky not to get a response from Duckett, and that player is none other than the current assistant coach Marcus Trescothick.
He said,
"I was just saying, in my time, a lot of players would have just dropped the elbow on him. I don't think I've ever seen a bowler do that after getting someone out."
Duckett's aggressive batting approach at the Oval led to the reason for his dismissal. However, the assistant coach stated that the player did his job at his best and was right to not get involved in any matter, heading back to the pavilion silently.
He said,
"You see, bowlers have many words, like we've seen a bit in this series on both sides. But it was just different, wasn't it? I was just laughing and joking about it. Ben doesn't really do a great deal. Put your head down and walk off; your job is done at that point. There is no need to walk him off in that fashion."
As the one thing ended, one more heated argument took place between Joe Root and Prasidh Krishna, to which umpire Kumar Dharamsena came in between to stop.
Many fans wondered what Krishna did to which Root reacted too quickly, who usually plays with such composure. Since the two were acquainted from their time together on the same IPL team, Krishna clarified that there was nothing particularly serious.
He said,
"It was a very small thing. It was just a combative edge that was coming out. We are good mates off the field. It was just a bit of banter, and we both enjoyed it."
