Ravindra Jadeja Is Not Outstanding With The Ball: Moeen Ali's Bold Take On Indian All-Rounder
Former England all-rounder Moeen Ali praised Ravindra Jadeja's iconic performance with the bat in the Lord's test, which ended in a losing cause by the margin of just 22 runs. However, he raised questions about the left-arm bowler's bowling performance, picking up only three wickets in all three matches in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy.
After India bowled Ben Stokes out for 193 runs in the second innings of the game, Shubman Gill's top-order lineupfailed to manage to score runs. Jadeja stood like a wall against England and made everyone believe that India can still win the Lord's Test and take the lead of 2-1 in the series. He batted with No. 10 Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj, who played for 84 balls between them, and Jadeja remained unbeaten on 61 runs off 181 deliveries.
The Indian top order completely disappointed in the Lord's Test; only Jadeja was the one who stood like a strong pillar. He has impressed a lot with his batting in the ongoing test series against England and has now become only the third Indian player to register four successive fifties in England after Sourav Ganguly and Rishabh Pant.
In a recently concluded interview, Moeen Ali said that Jadeja has not been outstanding with the ball.
He said,
"He just knows what he's doing. I think he's done it for many years. I think he's been amazing with the bat this series, obviously. I think with the ball, he hasn't quite got the wickets, but he does what he does. He's very tight. He can bowl, but he's outstanding."
Further, he said,
"I think now he's at the peak of his batting. Bowling-wise, I think he just doesn't have the wickets. With the tally, I think he's bowled well; he just doesn't have the wickets."
With India losing the third Test at Lord's, England is leading with 2-1 in the series. The fourth Test will commence on July 23 at Manchester. Now it will be interesting to see if India will be able to bounce back in the fourth test, making the series 2-2, or if they will continue to trail in the series.
