Rohit Sharma Out As ODI Captain, Shubman Gill Takes Charge - Post Viral On Social Media
Rohit Sharma's retirement from Test Cricket was quite shocking after he had a rough tour against Australia in the BGT and made a decision to step back from the format just before the England tour. Under his captaincy, he achieved many things but wasn't able to achieve as many things as compared to white-ball cricket. There was a time when he was criticized a lot for his poor form in red ball, stating the same would happen in white ball, but he consistently delivered incredible performances in ODIs.
The main focus of senior players was on the upcoming World Cup 2027, after they announced their retirement from Test Cricket and decided to continue playing the ODIs.
Rohit Sharma's tremendous record as captain in ODIs, it was widely stated that he would be retained as captain in ODIs. Recently a post on social media is going viral claiming that Shubman Gill will captain India in the team's next ODI series. Gill has already taken the captaincy reins of Team India in Tests, and according to the post, he will also be getting the same in ODIs.
The post went viral on social media, some stating it was a right move, but some were not in favor of the decision.
Will Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli Return in ODIs?
The Indian senior players Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma were all set to return in the ODI series against Bangladesh in September, but the series was postponed by BCCI and BCB in a mutual decision next year. Now they will be returning in November against Australia in the white ball series.
But if the captaincy is taken from Rohit, then it might happen that Rohit will leave the format.
