Sydney ODI Tickets Sold Out, Rohit & Kohli's Farewell Sparks Ticket Frenzy
The excitement and buzz around India's white ball tour of Australia is hitting very hard when it comes to the sale of match tickets for the third ODI at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG). The sale of tickets got a different rise before the four months leading up to the start of the tournament. Cricket Australia themselves confirmed that all tickets for the marquee event and the opening T20I in Canberra have almost vanished, stating how intense the rivalry is between both countries.
The demand for tickets went to the next level after Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli's retirement from Test cricket, as now ODI is the only format where both the players will be seen playing for India. The duo's availability is the key reason for fans to watch the event live, and there is no doubt that Sydney Test will create history in terms of the most audience watching the match from the stadium.
For cricket and especially Indian fans, ODIs are not ordinary matches; now they have become a rare opportunity to watch Rohit and Virat for one of the last few times on Australian soil in this format. As both the players are entering into the final stage of their careers slowly, each inning is now a nostalgia for cricket lovers.
Cricket Australia's Executive General Manager of Events and Operations, Joek Morrison, said,
"We are thrilled to see continued strong engagement amongst the Indian diaspora, driven in no small part by the anticipation of seeing legends like Rohit and Kohli in action. The Sydney ODI has all the ingredients of a blockbuster."
The presence and energetic excitement of Indian fans will add charm to the atmosphere in the Sydney ODI. The series will commence on October 19 in Perth and will end with the final T20I in Brisbane on November 19.
More than 90,000 tickets have already been sold out before the start of the series, and this series will be a treat for every RO-KO fan as they are entering into their farewell chapter.
