Rishabh Pant's Century Sparks Joy As Sunil Gavaskar Cheers His Triumph
Rishabh Pant is the most talked cricketer at the moment and we all the know the reason, in between he faced a bit of trolling in the IPL and BGT tour but now again he has become everyone's favourite. Yesterday after Pant's century on Day 4, we saw how former Indian player Sunil Gavaskar was very excited to see Pant's celebration when his century was completed in the second innings in the first test against England. Pant now has became the second player in history to score two consecutive centuries in Test cricket as a wicket keeper batter. We saw that as soon as Pant completed his century, the entire crowd in the stadium was excited that Pant will again do his iconic celebration like he did in the first innings, but he did not celebrate that yesterday.
After that Rishabh Pant gestured to Sunil Gavaskar and said that now some other time when the former player requested him to do so.
Talking about Pant after day 4 stumps, Gavaskar said,
"I am very, very happy. I mean, whenever an Indian performs well, you feel very happy because you know how much passion there is for cricket in India, in every family, I am sure there will be at least one person, maybe not everyone, but at least one person who follows the game. And so to make that family happy, if you can do well, if India does well, naturally it's a great feeling. And so to see this young kid come back, I mean, look what happened to him, with that accident"
As much as everybody is talking about Pant's performance, there is also a lot of discussion about his celebration.
If we talk about Day 4, then along with Rishabh Pant's innings, Rahul also scored a brilliant century due to which India set a huge score of 371 runs for England in the Headingley Test. Both the players made a wonderful partnership of 195 runs for the fourth wicket which is a very good reason why India set such a target for England.
After the day 4 stumps, England was on 21/0 and the host team still needed 350 runs to win. Jack Crowley and Ben Duckett are still unbeaten, scoring 12 and 9 runs respectively.
In the second innings, India was all out for 364 runs and Josh Tongue and Brydon Carse took three wickets each for England.
