Sanju Samson Set To Replace MS Dhoni In CSK For IPL 2026: Reports

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 has a long way to get start, but the teams have already started preparing for it. Among them Chennai Super Kings, whose 2025 season was not that good, started experimenting with the playing XI from the middle of the season itself. Meanwhile a recent report has came out where it is stated that Sanju Samson can replace MS Dhoni in Chennai Super Kings next year, so it clearly means that Samson can leave the Rajasthan Royals team next year.

These reports were going viral on social media like a fire where it was written that Rajasthan Royals could release Sanju Samson before 2026. The reports took a big blow when the manager of Chennai Super Kings team liked the post but till now there is no such confirmation as to this.

MS Dhoni who has been leading CSK for so many years, will be playing next year or not is still a big question. In such a situation, the CSK manager liking that post tells a lot that now the team is being rebuilt for the future. For some extent we can expect these reports might become true in the near future.

If we go a little back to IPL 2025, so during that time such news also went viral that things have not been good between Sanju Samson and the management of Rajasthan Royals. But all these things were rejected by the head coach of Rajasthan Royals, Rahul Dravid. As far as the question of Samson going to CSK is concerned, there has been no exact clarification on it yet, neither from CSK nor from Sanju Samson's side and the biggest thing is that Rajasthan has also not said anything yet on the matter of releasing him.

Talking about Sanju Samson's IPL career, he has played for 2 teams till now, out of which he has played 28 matches for Delhi Capitals and scored 677 runs. After that till the year 2025 he has played for Rajasthan Royals in which he has played 149 matches and scored 4,027 runs.

Now the biggest question is if Samson comes to CSK next year then who will do the captaincy. Will CSK show trust in Ruturaj Gaikwad or will we get to see Sanju Samson as the captain of Chennai Super Kings.
