Kevin Pietersen Praises Karun Nair & KL Rahul Ahead Of England Series
Kevin Pietersen has praised Karun Nair and KL Rahul, calling them 'diamonds'. Karun Nair has made his comeback with a double century for India A, while KL Rahul has requested the BCCI to practice more in England. Both of these players can play an important role in the Test series between India and England.
Former England cricketer Kevin Pietersen has heaped praise on Karun Nair and KL Rahul ahead of the Test series between India and England. The five-match Test series will begin on June 20 and mark the beginning of the new World Test Championship (WTC) cycle.
Karun Nair has returned to the Indian team after eight years. The reason for this is their excellent domestic performance. Nair scored a lot of runs for Vidarbha in the Vijay Hazare Trophy and Ranji Trophy. He then got a chance to play a warm-up Test against England Lions in the India A team. Here too, he surprised everyone and scored a double century in the very first match, scoring 204 runs and the India A team scored a score of 557 in the first innings.
On the other hand, KL Rahul has strengthened his place by batting well in the Border-Gavaskar series against Australia. Now Rahul himself has requested the BCCI to allow him to play in the second unofficial Test of India A in England, so that he can practice more before the Test series.
Kevin Pietersen praised the two players and wrote on social media, "Karun scored a century yesterday and KL has asked the BCCI to go to England early so that he can practice more – these are two diamonds!"
The second unofficial Test between India A and England Lions will begin on June 6. Earlier on June 13, the senior Indian team players will play a practice match in Beckenham.
England Lions also competed with India in the first unofficial Test. Tom Haines and Max Holden's brilliant knocks have helped England reach 237/2 on the second day and still trail by 320 runs.
Now it will be interesting to see which team wins on the third day.
