Australia Announces Squad for World Test Championship Final
Australia have announced a 15-man squad for the World Test Championship final. The team will compete against South Africa under the captaincy of Pat Cummins. Sam Konstas and Cameron Green are included in the team. Josh Hazlewood will return after recovering from injury. The team selection includes Matt Kuhnemann and Brendan Doggett as travelling reserves.
Australia have announced a 15-member squad for the World Test Championship final starting June 11. Sam Konstas has also been included in the squad after the selectors named a certain group that included spinner Matt Kuhnemann and fast bowler Brendan Doggett as a travelling reserve. Cricket Australia on Tuesday announced the names of 15 players who will face South Africa in the WTC final and then travel to the West Indies for a three-Test series in June and July.
Pat Cummins was out of the Sri Lanka tour due to the birth of his second child, now he will be seen captaining once again in the final. Test regulars Josh Hazlewood and Cameron Green will also return to the team after recovering from injury. It will be interesting to see who makes it between Green and fellow all-rounder Beau Webster in the team's playing XI.
Josh Hazlewood is currently struggling with a minor shoulder problem, but team officials believe that his name is not included in the race for Australia's second consecutive World Test Championship title.
Constas was selected for the tour of Sri Lanka earlier this year but was not given a chance in both the Tests in Galle. The 19-year-old will be on his first tour of England, hoping to regain his place in the top order after Usman Khawaja.
