Match 48 of IPL 2025 saw Delhi Capitals (DC) take on Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. DC won the toss and opted to bowl first, but KKR’s batting firepower proved too much in the end.

Openers Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Sunil Narine gave KKR a dream start, smashing 48 runs in just 3 overs. Gurbaz scored a quickfire 26 off 12 balls (5 fours, 1 six), while Narine contributed 27 off 16 with 2 fours and 2 sixes.

Axar Patel brought some hope with a blazing 43 off 23 balls (3 sixes), but Narine dismissed him at a crucial time. Tristan Stubbs was out cheaply, while Faf du Plessis held one end firmly, anchoring the innings with a valiant 62 off 45 balls, including 7 boundaries and 2 sixes.
Viraj Nigam tried to pull off a late heist with a fiery 38 off 19 balls, but the required rate proved too steep in the end. DC could only manage 190/9 in their allotted 20 overs.
