Rajasthan Royals Triumph Over GT With Vaibhav Suryavanshi's Blazing Century
Rajasthan Royals celebrated a remarkable victory over Gujarat Titans in the IPL 2025, thanks to Vaibhav Suryavanshi's record-breaking century. Suryavanshi's explosive 101 off 38 balls, alongside Yashasvi Jaiswal's 70, led Rajasthan to a comfortable chase of 210 with nine wickets in hand. Despite the loss, Gujarat Titans remain competitive with six wins from nine matches.
The 47th match of IPL 2025 was played between Rajasthan Royals and Gujarat Titans at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. Rajasthan’s stand-in captain Riyan Parag won the toss and opted to bowl first.
Opening the innings for Gujarat Titans were captain Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan. Both batters got off to a flying start, adding 93 runs for the first wicket. Sai Sudharsan scored a quick 39 runs off 30 balls, including 4 fours and a six. With this knock, Sudharsan overtook Virat Kohli to become the leading run-scorer in IPL 2025, sitting at the top of the Orange Cap list with 456 runs from 9 innings.
Meanwhile, Shubman Gill continued his excellent form, hammering 84 runs off just 50 deliveries with 5 fours and 4 sixes. Former Rajasthan Royals batter Jos Buttler, now playing against them, walked in at number three and played a brilliant cameo, smashing 50 runs off just 26 balls with 4 sixes and 3 fours. Washington Sundar, promoted up the order, added 13 runs off 8 balls to finish the innings strongly. Gujarat Titans ended with a challenging total of 209/4 in their 20 overs.
For Rajasthan, Maheesh Theekshana was the pick of the bowlers with 2 wickets, while Jofra Archer and Sandeep Sharma picked up a wicket each.
Chasing 210, Rajasthan Royals openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi got their team off to a blistering start, putting up 81 runs inside the first six overs. The duo continued the onslaught, building a massive 166-run partnership for the first wicket.
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi created history by becoming the fastest Indian to score an IPL century, reaching the milestone in just 35 balls. He ended with a stunning 101 runs off 38 deliveries, smashing 11 sixes and 7 fours. Yashasvi Jaiswal remained unbeaten on 70 runs off 40 balls, playing the perfect supporting role. Skipper Riyan Parag joined in later, contributing a quickfire 32 not out from 15 balls to seal the chase.
Rajasthan Royals comfortably chased down the target with 9 wickets in hand, registering only their third win in 10 matches this season. Gujarat Titans, despite the loss, have 6 wins from 9 games and remain in a strong position on the points table.
