Gujarat Giants defeated UP Warriors by 81 runs in the 15th match of the Women's Premier League (WPL) 2025 at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on Monday.

Thanks to Beth Mooney's unbeaten 96 runs, the Giants scored 186 runs for the loss of 5 wickets. Chasing 187 runs, the UP team was expected to give a good start to their openers. But, the initial setbacks to UP took a long way away from the match.

Deandra Dottin, Kashvi Gautam and Meghna Singh picked up wickets for Gujarat. Due to the initial setbacks, the entire team of UP was all out for 105 runs.

For UP, Grace Harris held one end till the 10th over. While Chinelle Henry played an aggressive innings. However, the pressure on the batsmen was high as the required run rate increased.

UP got the first blow on the second ball of the match. The team's score was just one run. Deandra Dottin took two wickets in a row, dismissing Kiran Navgire for a duck and also dismissing debutant Georgia Wolle for a duck.

Kashvi Gautam also kept the pressure on from the other end, bowling Vrinda Dinesh (1) with a sharp inswinger that hit the middle stump. UP's score was also 14 runs and three batsmen had returned to the pavilion. Grace Harris who survived the early LBW call on the Review. He tried to push the innings forward by hitting some good boundaries. But, Meghna Singh gave the next blow to UP, captain Deepti Sharma (6) returned to the pavilion after scoring runs.

Grace Harris who scored 25 runs in 30 balls. At one end, they were facing the Gujarat bowlers firmly. But, at the other end, he did not get support from other batsmen. Three UP players returned to the pavilion without opening an account. The team could not even play the full 20 overs.
