The Border Security Force (BSF) organised the fourth edition of 'Bordermen Marathon 2025' in Amritsar on Sunday. The race started from the Golden Gate in Amritsar. Based on the theme "Hand in Hand with Border Population", the sports event aims to empower the border youth and take a concrete step towards building a healthy India.

Border Security Force (BSF) Director General Daljit Singh Chaudhary attended the event as the chief guest. Speaking on the occasion, he said that this is a major initiative of BSF, which will make the youth of the country aware of their health. This marathon is not only a sporting event but also an important initiative towards empowering the frontline youth and building a healthy India.

He further said that this annual marathon, which started from the year 2022, is organized under the auspices of the Athletics Federation of India. In such a situation, this year also it is being organized in a bigger form with its grandeur and popularity. More than 5,200 runners are participating in this marathon, including international as well as international professional athletes. Started in the year 2022, this annual marathon is touching new heights of its success every year. The growing participation of youth from the six border districts of Punjab further strengthens the success and importance of this marathon.

"This year, especially to encourage women towards sports, BSF has announced free registration for women in all categories, which will further boost their participation. The marathon is being held on the beautiful and historic route from Golden Gate, Amritsar to JCP Attari. Participants of various age categories (men and women, under and above 40 years) will be given cash prize money of Rs 1.5 lakh (full marathon), Rs 75,000 (half marathon) and Rs 40,000 (10km race) to the first winners.

He said that this marathon consists of three major categories: Full Marathon (42.195 km), Half Marathon (21.097 km) and 10 km race, which provide a great opportunity not only for experienced athletes, but also for amateur runners. This marathon is not just a race, but it is a celebration of fitness, sportsmanship and patriotism. It also empowers the objectives of 'Fit India Movement' and 'Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan', reflecting BSF's commitment towards diverting the energy of youth in a positive and constructive direction.
