India Is Going To win: Michael Clarke's Bold Prediction On ICC Champions Trophy 2025
The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is just a few days away, with the first match being played between Pakistan and New Zealand on February 19, Wednesday, at the National Bank Stadium. All the matches will be held in Pakistan except India's matches. India hasn't traveled to the host country due to political tensions and security reasons. The Men In Blue will be playing all their matches in Dubai under a hybrid model. The Indian team has reached Dubai for the tournament. Before the start of the campaign, many big predictions have been made by cricket experts.
"India is going to win Champions Trophy" - Michael Clarke
Former Australian skipper Michael Clarke made bold predictions before the ICC tournament. He stated that India will win the Champions Trophy, backing Indian skipper Rohit Sharma, saying that he will be the leading run scorer in the tournament.
"Well, I am saying India is going to win (Champions Trophy). I am going to go with their captain, who's back in form. I am going to say Rohit Sharma is the leading run scorer in the tournament."
"It's good to see him making runs again. I think India needs him for sure."
Recently, in the ODI series against England, all the players who were out of form were seen getting back to their natural form. The senior batters Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma also made their comeback before the upcoming Champions Trophy.
"Jofra Archer—the leading wicket-taker" - Michael Clarke
Clarke also stated that England's Jofra Archer will be the leading wicket-taker in the tournament. England is in Group B, which includes Afghanistan, South Africa, and Australia.
"I want to go with Jofra Archer—the leading wicket-taker. I know England; I am not expecting them to do that well, but I think he's a superstar. I think Jofra is going to be really hard to play. So, I am going to have him as my leading wicket-taker."
"Travis Head - Player of the Tournament" - Michael Clarke
Further, talking about the Australian star batter Travis Head, Clarke made a prediction that Head will be the Player of the Tournament. The shocking thing he said was that Australia might lose the finals.
"I am going to go with Travis Head (for Player of the Tournament). Travis Head has been in terrific form. His IPL form was phenomenal. Australian Test summer form was phenomenal. He has had a bit of a break in Sri Lanka. He is ready to go again. So, I am going to say Travis Head Player of the Tournament even though I think Australia might lose the final."
