Jacob Bethell Eager To Join RCB, Thrilled To Play Alongside Virat Kohli
The England all-rounder Jacob Bethell is all excited to join Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) for the upcoming IPL 2025 season. He has impressed with his performance in international cricket and expressed his excitement on joining one of the most loved franchises that have former Indian skipper Virat Kohli. He scored 51 runs off 64 balls in the first ODI against India, smashing three fours and a six, and took a wicket in the game.
In the IPL 2025 mega auction, Bethell was brought up by RCB for Rs 2.60 crore. Currently he is on a tour of India for the ongoing tournament and said that he got massive support and love from the fans on the ground. He stated that every ground he's going to, everyone starts to chant RCB, RCB when he walks on the pitch.
"RCB is a great franchise, and I've felt the love over here. Every ground I've been to, as soon as I walk onto the pitch, they start chanting RCB, RCB. There's definitely a lot of support."
Bethell also expressed his excitement to play with Kohli and the franchise that features players like him. He met the Indian star cricketer Kohli for the first time during the ODI series against India in Nagpur.
"To play along with the likes of players like that would be really cool."
The 21-year-old also talked about his thoughts on playing with such renowned figures.
"As soon as you play against someone, you realize you're playing the same game, and they can make the same mistakes you can. It's just that those guys obviously got a lot better at not making the mistakes."
