Sanjay Bangar Confident Format Change Can Revive Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli's Form

Former Coach Bangar Sees Format Change as Key for Rohit and Kohli's Comeback

Former Indian batting coach Sanjay Bangar believes that a change in format and the past performances of the star duo can bring some change in their form against England in ODIs and Champions Trophy. Lately, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli got a lot of criticism for their poor form in the recently concluded Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 against Australia. Due to this, many questions were raised on the future of the star duo in international cricket. Virat struggled a lot while facing off-stump ball against Australia and was dismissed eight times in the same manner, while Rohit managed to score only 31 runs in five innings and decided to step down from the final Test in Sydney.

Sanjay Bangar said that a change in format and past performances in ODIs will give them confidence.

"Both Virat and Rohit will go down as all-time great white-ball players. If you make a list, their names will certainly be there. A change in format and their past performances in ODIs should give them confidence."

Further, he expressed his excitement to see how Rohit plays because he has had some low scores lately.

"It will be interesting to see how Rohit plays because he has had some low scores of late. So, once you see maybe one innings or so, or maybe two innings, then we will have an idea as to how to approach that both these players will be taking into the 50-year format."

Recently, both players appeared in the Ranji Trophy for their respective teams after almost a decade but failed to perform there too, which is a cause of concern in the upcoming tournaments.
