Gen.G made the announcement, writing,

"Life is too short, so to make the wrong move... So we made a great move. Ranked #4 in the world, he is the most interesting chess player. "

He further wrote,

"Welcome to Arjun Erigaisi Gen.G! Arjun will be participating in the Champions Chess Tour and qualifying for the eSports World Cup!"

Chess will make its debut at the eSports World Cup in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, later this year.
