Rashid Khan Becomes Highest Wicket-Taker In T20 Cricket, Surpasses Dwayne Bravo
Rashid Khan has now etched his name as the leading wicket-taker in T20 cricket history. He achieved this milestone in the first qualifier of SA20 between MI Cape Town and Paarl Royals, surpassing West Indies' Dwayne Bravo. The Afghan spinner is seen leading the MI Cape Town, who made it to the final of the ongoing edition, defeating the Paarl Royals by 39 runs. In the match against Royals, he took 2 wickets by giving away 33 runs, which helped him reach the milestone of 633 wickets.
The 26-year-old needed only one wicket to make his name in the history of leading wicket-takers in T20 and did that by dismissing Dunith Wellalage in the 10th over of the innings. He was very fortunate with this achievement and also said that he's looking forward to continuing this in the near future.
"It's a great achievement. I never thought about it; if you had asked 10 years before this, I would have gotten there. It's a proud feeling to be from Afghanistan and to be at that level where you top the table. DJ (Bravo) is one of the best T20 bowlers. It's a great honor, and I'm looking forward to continuing."
Rashid's spells helped MI Cape Town bowl out the Royals for 160, winning the match by 39 runs after putting a score of 199-4, and now they have made their spot in the finals, which will be played on February 8.
