The Indian star batter Virat Kohli has been named in Delhi's squad for the clash against Railways on January 30, Thursday, in the Ranji Trophy 2024-25. Kohli made himself available for the upcoming clash after missing the game against Saurashtra due to a neck sprain. He will be making his comeback in Ranji for his state team, Delhi, after almost 12 years. Former Indian skipper is all set to play the match on Thursday. The security at the Arun Jaitely Stadium in Delhi has been tightened up to the next level, as it is assumed that the strong crowd will be present to witness Kohli. The District Cricket Association (DDCA) is leaving no stone unturned in security and making sure arrangements are up to the mark.

"The Delhi Police will receive a letter from us. We have enhanced our private security, so we have initiated all these arrangements, and we will attempt to ensure there is no inconvenience for the fans when they come on January 30 to see the match."

It has also been reported that Kohli was offered the captaincy of the team against Railways, but he declined this offer just like Rishabh Pant did. Ayush Badoni will be seen continuing to lead Delhi in the match against Railways. The match of Railways and Delhi will not be telecast or streamed online, as tickets are free for the audience. However, it is to be noted that Indian star wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant will miss the match.

He has played 23 Ranji Trophy matches for Delhi, scoring 1574 runs at an average of 50.77, smashing five centuries. The last time he played in Delhi was in 2012-13 against Uttar Pradesh, scoring 57 runs.
