No Wives, Families Allowed On Tour, BCCI To Impose New Rules Post Australia Loss
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is on an urge to take strict actions against the Indian cricket team after their tragic tour of Australia. The sources revealed that the BCCI will be taking actions on players spending time with their family during the tours by not allowing wives and girlfriends to travel with the players for more than two weeks on a tour that lasts over one and a half months.
The sources also stated that now every player needs to travel by team bus and won't be travelling separately. The players will be paying for their extra luggage on the tour.
It used to be noted that star players Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah travelled with their families during tours while other players travelled together.
NEW BCCI GUIDELINES
1. Cricketers wives will not be able to stay for the entire tour.
2. A cricketer's family can stay for a maximum of 2 weeks during a 45-day tour.
3. Every player needs to travel by team bus; separate traveling is not allowed.
4. If the tour is short, then the duration might be reduced to 7 days.
5. Gautam Gambhir's personal manager will not be allowed to have a seat in the VIP box or travel in the team bus and will be staying in a different hotel.
6. BCCI will not cover the extra charge of a player's luggage if it exceeds 150 kg; players will have to pay on their own.
These actions were taken after India lost the Border-Gavaskar Trophy to Australia, ruining their chance of making it to the World Test Championship. The reports also suggested that after this defeat the mood in the dressing room was also not good. In the recently concluded series, many things came out of the box in the media, from Ravichandran Ashwin's sudden retirement to Rohit Sharma stepping out from the Sydney Test. A report also suggested that the team did not even celebrate their historic win in Perth all together.
