American Grandmaster Hans Niemann Aims to Revolutionize Chess Like UFC or Boxing
American Chess Grandmaster Hans Niemann believes that chess should evolve and he wants to make it like UFC or boxing. Since Niemann will not be participating in any chess tournament for the next two years, he has shown interest in playing with top chess players like Arjun Erigaisi, Fabiano Caruana, Hikaru Nakamura, Magnus Carlsen and Daniel Dubov.
Neiman wrote on X,
"After 3 matches in the Hans Niemann vs World Series I have tried to organize a match with Erigaisi, Caruana, Nakamura, Carlsen and Dubov. "
He further wrote,
"I offered Erigaisi and Caruana to give 100k to the winner (they didn't put any money up), they haven't accepted the offer yet. Chess has to be like UFC or boxing. Pure merit. I don't have any tournaments for the next two months and I would be happy to play matches against any top player. Chess must evolve!"
In another post, Neiman also asked chess fans to be patient and wrote: "The world of chess needs to be more positive. I promise that chess will speak for itself in 2025. "
Last week, GM Niemann revealed his resolution of 2025. He wants to keep World No. 3 Hikaru Nakamura in his place as Nieman's goal is to become the No. 1 chess streamer and then the No. 1 chess player.
Neiman wrote on X,
"I'll be back on streaming tomorrow for the Fisher 960 qualifiers. It's time to put my fellow content creators and professional peers: Hikaru and Gotham Chess in their place.
