John Cena Confirms Royal Rumble 2025 Participation, Begins Farewell Tour

The 47-year-old WWE Superstar John Cena made his return to the ring during WWE's Netflix debut on Monday and made a big announcement as well. "The Cenation Leader" told that he will be part of the Royal Rumble which is set to be held on February 1. The 2025 Royal Rumble will mark the beginning of Cena's Farewell Tour. 

During the Money in the Bank event in July last year, John Cena announced his farewell tour. Royal Rumble 2025 will give Cena a chance to become world champion for the 17th time. During his return to Raw on Monday, Cena also thanked Netflix and said, "Netflix, thank you for allowing the world to experience the Monday Night Raw. "

If John wins the Royal Rumble match, he will get a chance to be a part of the title match at WrestleMania 41. Even if he loses the Royal Rumble match, he will get another chance in the Elimination Chamber. During Raw, Cena asked fans with whom should he compete with at WrestleMania 41,  Drew McIntyre, Gunther, Logan Paul, CM Punk or Cody Rhodes. Fans sitting in the arena cheered for Cody and Punk's name.

Cena also spoke about his connection with Los Angeles and said that he has been wrestling in Los Angeles for more than 25 years and he recalled many moments from winning his first championship to many moments. 


During the Money in the Bank in 2024, Cena confirmed that 2025 would be his last year as a professional wrestler.

"Tonight I'm officially announcing my retirement from WWE. I would like to bid farewell to a 17th world title. I would love that opportunity. Those opportunities are earned," said Cena.
