Gautam Gambhir Hints At Possible Changes For Sydney Test, Rohit Sharma's Spot Uncertain
The fifth Test match of the five-match series between India and Australia will be played at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) from January 3 at the Sydney Cricket Ground. A day before the Sydney Test, Team India head coach Gautam Gambhir appeared in the press conference. His statements once again caused an uproar in the whole media world. During the press conference, when Gautam Gambhir was asked if captain Rohit Sharma will play the Sydney Test, the head coach said that they will be deciding the playing XI tomorrow only after looking at the wicket.

Head coach Gambhir said that the dressing room talks should not reach the public. He had an honest conversation with the players because he is kept in the team only on the basis of his performance. Amid reports of tension in the dressing room, he said that these are just reports, not any truth.
Gautam Gambhir said that as long as there are honest people in the dressing room, Indian cricket is in safe hands. The only thing that can keep you in the dressing room is your performance. Honesty has to be spoken to, and honesty is very important for any team. He also said that he has not spoken to senior batsman Virat Kohli and captain Rohit Sharma except about the strategy to win Test matches.
"Every player knows where they needs to improve. We have only talked to them about how to win Test matches."
Gautam Gambhir also confirmed that fast bowler Akashdeep will not play the Sydney Test due to stiffness in the back. However, there was no disclosure of who will play in place of Akashdeep. But if media reports are to be believed, there may be some major changes in the match. Prasidh Krishna, Harshit Rana, and Dhruv Jurel are expected to feature in the Sydney Test, while Shubman Gill's comeback cannot be ruled out. Akashdeep is sure to be out of the team, but apart from him, one of Mohammed Siraj or Jasprit Bumrah can be out. Bumrah is the highest wicket-taker in this series, but looking at the workload management, he can be given rest. At the same time, Rishabh Pant can also be dropped in this match.
