Michael Hussey Criticizes Sam Konstas Over Antics With Jasprit Bumrah In Boxing Day Test

Sam Konstas Faces Backlash from Michael Hussey Over Actions Against Bumrah

The Australian young debutant Sam Konstas made a remarkable debut in his Test career, scoring a fifty in the first innings of the Boxing Day Test against India at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). He scored a quick 60 runs off just 65 balls, smashing six fours and two sixes, and looked very comfortable against Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj.

Konstas did not get much attention due to his half-century, but he had a fiery conversation with the Indian star batter Virat Kohli on the field. He gained a lot of attention due to this controversy with Kohli in the fourth Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. In response to this on-field fight, Konstas made some gestures to the MCG ground when Kohli and Bumrah got dismissed in India's first innings. However, this thing did not stop there; when Kohli was returning back to the pavilion, the Australian crowd started to boo him.

Former Australian cricketer Michael Hussey said that certain actions of players come back to them in some way or another, and the same thing happened with Konstas. These things just make the battle between two nations more interesting and spicy.

"It always comes back to bite you at some stage. I wonder if Sam Konstas is back in the dressing room thinking, 'I wish I charged him.' It just makes the battle between the two nations all the more spicy."

In Australia's second innings, Sam Konstas got a taste of his own medicine. He got dismissed by Bumrah when he was batting at 8, and he did the same celebration that Konstas did to them in their first innings.

Further, he said that Bumarh doesn't show up many times, but when Sam Konstas was dismissed, he thought to give him the taste of his medicine.

"You don't see a lot of theatrics from Bumrah, but when Sam Konstas was dismissed, he thought, 'Yep, I'm here as well."

As of now, Australia leads with 307 runs in the Melbourne Test. India hopes to win this Test by chasing the target in 59 overs.
