India, Australia Settle For Draw In Third BGT Test, Series 1-1
The third Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy between India and Australia has come to a decision: both teams, with mutual agreement, decide to make it a draw. Indian sides are going to be a lot happier after the third Test goes to a draw. The series is now 1-1, and the upcoming two tests will be crucial for both teams in order to qualify for the World Test Championship (WTC) final.
In the first innings, Australia put up a big target on the scoreboard of 445 runs. Travis Head and Steven Smith played a very key role in putting such a big target for the opposition team. Head scored 152 runs off 160 balls at an average of 95.00, and Steve Smith scored 101 runs off 190 balls at an average of 53.16. Indians were dismissed for 260 runs in the first session and avoided the follow-on.
For the Indian side, Jasprit Bumrah played a key role for the team in both batting and bowling. He took a total of 9 wickets in the third series, and with the help of Akash Deep (31 runs), he helped India to avoid the follow-on. KL Rahul played a tremendous knock with his bat, scoring 84 runs off 139 balls, and Ravindra Jadeja scored 77 runs off 123 balls at an average of 62.60.
In the second innings played by Australia, they were on 89 runs with the loss of 7 wickets and announced the score. After this, India came to bat and was on 8 runs, but due to bad lights and weather, the game was interrupted, and after all this, both the teams mutually decided to make this game a draw.
