Rashid Latif Wants Pakistan To Boycott Champions Trophy 2025
The issue of the venue of the Champions Trophy is still not over; some day or the other, former players come up with their own opinions on the same. Now Pakistan’s former skipper Rashid Latif made a big statement regarding the Champions Trophy 2025, stating that the tournament should not happen anymore. He wants Pakistan to boycott the tournament before BCCI takes some drastic step.
Earlier the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) demanded a hybrid model for all the tournaments that will be taking place in India in the future. This happened after India asked for this in the Champions Trophy due to security reasons in Pakistan. However, BCCI rejected the hybrid model as there is no security concern in India. According to the reports, PCB made it clear that they would not be participating in any tournaments in India unless all the things are sorted. “The BCCI's contention is simple—there is no security threat in India and hence no question of accepting such an arrangement.”

In a recently concluded event, Latif stated that it’s high time for Pakistan to take a firm stand on their decision. He said that the Champions Trophy should not happen anymore.
“Pakistan should boycott the Champions Trophy now. Before the BCCI takes this step, the PCB should take it. The Champions Trophy shouldn’t happen anymore.”
“We have always been made scapegoats, be it in the Afghan war or cricket. PCB, ACB, and ICC are the same as they can’t fight against the BCCI. They have the chance to push Pakistan to the front. We have joined hands and are fighting against it, but the only fear is that if India boycotts, where do we stand?
However, PCB has now agreed to accept the hybrid model for the Champions Trophy with India playing its matches in Dubai. While the rest of the matches will be played in Pakistan. India will also play the semifinal and final matches in Dubai if they get qualified.
