Aakash Chopra Believes Mumbai Indians Have Strong Chance For IPL 2025 Playoffs
Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra believes that Mumbai Indians (MI) can qualify for the IPL 205 playoffs. MI retained five players ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction listed Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma and Hardik Pandya. They spent Rs 119.80 in the auction and assembled a 23-member squad. Their most expensive picks at the auction were Trent Boult (12.50 crore), Deepak Chahar (9.5 crore), Will Jacks (5.25 crore), and Allah Ghazanfar (4.80 crore).
In a video shared by Aakash Chopra on his YouTube channel talking about Mumbai Indian’s playoff qualification said that fitness will be a big concern for them, the make or break for them would be their bowlers if they remain fit.
“The first 12 are looking good. You can push till 13 also but the backup is not that good in the rest of their squad. Unfortunately, the backup is not good for anyone. Fitness will be a concern. The make or break will be whether the Mumbai Indians bowling unit can remain fit.”
Further, Chopra said that if everyone remains fit then this team should make it to the final four, it will be a surprise if they don’t reach the final tour. He also said that he was surprised last year as well. It seems that things were not good last time but now the MI family is together.
