Nitish Rana's Wife Criticizes KKR Following Transfer to Rajasthan Royals

During the IPL Mega Auction 2025, several players underwent major changes, leaving their main teams to join new teams for the next reason. The 30-year-old Indian batsman Nitish Rana is one of them, who was a reliable member of the Kolkata Knight Riders franchise. He suffered the same fate as KKR decided not to bid for him. Rather, he was purchased by the Rajasthan Royals for INR 4.20 crore. 

Nitish Rana was part of the KKR franchise since 2018, but this year the management didn’t retain him. Now, Nitish Rana’s wife, Saachi Marwah, has expressed her disappointment on the social media platform X by posting a cryptic message. 

Saachi’s post read, “Loyalty is very expensive, not everyone can afford it.” It is clear that her message is an indirect dig at the KKR management, as they took Nitish Rana for granted and failed to acknowledge his loyalty to the team. 

Kolkata’s most notable purchase was Venkatesh Iyer, who was bought for INR 23.75 crore, making him the third most expensive player in the IPL Auction 2025. Initially, Iyer was not retained by the franchise, but they repurchased him at a quite higher price, which sparked speculation among fans. 

Kolkata Knight Riders couldn’t use Nitish Rana during the 2024 IPL season because he missed the majority of games due to injury. Now the Rajasthan Royals are Nitish Rana’s new IPL home. However, due to the team change, the 30-year-old might have to endure a pay reduction. Rana formerly made INR 8 crore with KKR, but this transfer will result in a major pay cut to INR 3.8 crore. 

During the initial stages of his cricketing career, Nitish Rana was just a batsman and a part-time bowler, but with time, he enhanced his skills and went on to become an efficient batting all-rounder. Rana has been playing IPL since 2016 and had a notable stint with the Kolkata Knight Riders.
