Mohammad Kaif Suggests Rohit Sharma, Tilak Varma For MI Opening Pair In IPL 2025
Former India cricketer Mohammad Kaif thinks that Rohit Sharma and Tilak Varma tobe Mumbai Indians (MI) opening pair in the IPL 2025 season. According to him, Will Jacks can bat down the order, so Tilak and Suryakumar Yadav can be in top three.
Will Jacks played for RCB in IPL 2024 and played a very key role in their team’s performance. He is now with MI and has been bought by them at the recent auction. Will Jacks, Trent Boult, Ryan Riclkelton, Allah Ghazanfar, Mitchell Santnar, Reece Topley, Bevon Jacobs, and Lizaad Williams are the overseas players in MI.
Kaif in a discussion on Star Sports said that he sees Rohit and Tilak could open this time and Will Jacks to come down the order. After that Suryakumar Yadav can come to bat at No.3 as he plays well at this position. Hardik Pandya around No.5 and Jacks after that.
“Will Jacks will have to come down the order. I see Tilak Varma and Rohit Sharma opening this time. After that, Suryakumar Yadav will come at No.3 and generally plays well too. You can keep Hardik Pandya around No.5 and Jacks will come after that.”
Further, he said that Naman Dhir is also there and they have to get a young batter here. He also said that they made a good comeback from Day 1 to Day 2.
“Naman Dhir is also there. So these are the six. You will have to get a young batter here (potentially Robin Minz as a wicketkeeper-batter). One batter might not be that known. So one thing is lacking there but they made a good comeback from yesterday (Day 1) to today (Day 2).”
