'Best in All Three Formats': Sunil Gavaskar praises Jasprit Bumrah
Indian cricket legend Sunil Gavaskar praised Jasprit Bumrah after his brilliant performance in the Perth Test. In the first Test match against Australia, Bumrah took 8 wickets and won the title of 'Player of the Match'.
The Ahmedabad pacer troubled Australia's batsmen throughout the Test match and ensured the fall of their innings. India took a lead of 46 runs despite scoring 150 runs in the first innings. Speaking to Sports Tak, Gavaskar picked Bumrah as the best bowler in all three formats.
Gavaskar said: "Yes, of course. I can't see or hear anything else. Perhaps there is no such bowler after Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis. There was no one in England who had created so much fear in the batsmen. ”
Gavaskar also said that batsmen around the world are thinking about how to face Bumrah's deliveries as they have 12 different bowling variations. "How to play Jasprit Bumrah? How to face their balls? He is a cause of fear not just in Australia but all over the world. Bumrah has in-swing, out-swing, slow yorker, fast yorker, fast bouncer, slow bouncer — everything. He can bowl 8, 10, 12 types of balls. For this reason, he is the best in all three formats Test, ODI and T20. ”
In the T20 World Cup 2024, Bumrah won the title of 'Player of the Tournament' while performing brilliantly. India defeated South Africa in the final and won the trophy. Bumrah took 15 wickets in 8 matches in this tournament.
Under the captaincy of Bumrah, India defeated Australia by 295 runs in the first Test to take a 1-0 lead in the five-match series. The second Test will start from December 6, in which captain Rohit Sharma has also joined the team.
