IPL 2025 Auction: 13 Year-Old Vaibhav Suryavanshi becomes the Youngest Millionaire in IPL
The IPL 2025 auction set several records. Rajasthan Royals bought 13-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi for ₹1.10 crore to become the youngest millionaire player in IPL history. On the second day of the auction, there was a strong bid for Indian bowlers Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Deepak Chahar, Akash Deep and Mukesh Kumar. Bhuvneshwar became RCB's most expensive player at ₹10.75 crore. Deepak Chahar was bought for ₹9.25 crore, while Akash Deep and Mukesh were roped in by LSG and DC for ₹8 crore.
South African all-rounder Marco Jansen, whose base price was ₹1.25 crore, was bought by Punjab Kings for ₹7 crore. RCB spent ₹5.75 crore on Krunal Pandya, who has been out of the Indian team for a long time. Nitish Rana was not bid by KKR, and they went to Rajasthan Royals for ₹4.2 crore.
India all-rounder Washington Sundar was bought by Gujarat Titans for ₹3.20 crore. West Indies' Rovman Powell was the first player to be sold on the second day of the auction and was picked up by KKR for his base price of ₹1.5 crore. Delhi Capitals bought Faf du Plessis for ₹2 crore. At the same time, big names like Kane Williamson, Glenn Phillips, Ajinkya Rahane and Prithvi Shaw remained unsold.
Fast bowlers Rasikh Salam Dar, Nehal Wadhera and Abdul Samad were the highest sold among the uncapped players. Rasikh joined RCB for ₹6 crore, while Nehal and Samad were bought by Punjab Kings and LSG for ₹4.20 crore. Mumbai Indians entered the auction late but bought Trent Boult for ₹12.50 crore in the very first bid. Jofra Archer and Josh Hazlewood also received a huge amount of ₹12.50 crore.
Kolkata Knight Riders bought Venkatesh Iyer for ₹23.75 crore and brought him back into the team. At the same time, Ishan Kishan went to SRH for ₹11.25 crore. Rishabh Pant became the most expensive player in IPL history when Lucknow Super Giants bought him for ₹27 crore. Just before this, Punjab Kings included Shreyas Iyer in the team for ₹ 26.75 crore.
The marquee set was dominated by Indian bowlers Yuzvendra Chahal, Mohammed Shami and Mohammed Siraj. Chahal bought by Punjab Kings for ₹18 crore. Shami was made part of their team by SRH for ₹10 crore and Siraj by Gujarat Titans for ₹12.25 crore. At the same time, KL Rahul was bought by Delhi Capitals for ₹ 14 crore.
The auction was full of big money for the players and thrill for the spectators.
