Competition for Pant in Hyderabad, RCB and Lucknow
For Rishabh Pant, there was a battle between Lucknow and RCB in the beginning. Pant had entered the auction with a base price of Rs 2 crore and in no time his price crossed Rs 10 crore. During this time Hyderabad also joined the race, but Lucknow also did not give up. At the auction table, Hyderabad owner Kavya Maran and Lucknow owner Sanjay Goenka continued to bid for Pant and the price crossed 17 crores. Hyderabad and Lucknow did not stop here and the bidding on Pant kept increasing. Lucknow bid Rs 20.75 crore for Pant and Hyderabad pulled back.
The auction started with India pacer Arshdeep Singh, who was retained by Punjab Kings for ₹18 crore using his RTM card. After this, another Indian bowler Mohammed Shami was included in his team by Sunrisers Hyderabad for ₹ 10 crore.
This time the process of buying players in the auction was special. The auction started with a 'marquee set', in which the biggest names were bid. After this came the turn of capped batsmen, all-rounders, wicketkeepers and bowlers.
The auction is being organized in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia this time. The two-day mega auction saw huge bids and many players set new records.
Rishabh Pant's historic bid once again showed that he is not only a big star of Indian cricket but also of IPL. In this season of IPL 2025, all eyes will be on Pant whether he lives up to this value or not.
