Samson's Heroic Century Seals Series Win For India Against Proteas
India wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson after playing a brilliant knock against South Africa in the fourth T20I match of the series said that the century against the Proteas meant a lot to him.
Samson played a tremendous knock of 109 runs off 56 balls, smashed 6 fours and 9 sixes at a strike rate of 194.64, scored his century in just 51 balls.
In the innings break, Samson said that he had a lot of failures but kept believing in himself and worked hard to perform in the final match. He also revealed that a lot of things were going on his head. He even praised Abhishek Sharma and Tilak Verma, they helped him a lot in the first inning in Johannesburg.
“It is a bit hard to tell right now since I’m breathing so fast. I have had so many failures in my life, got two hundred and then two ducks, I kept on believing in myself, kept on working hard and it came off today. After a couple of failures, there were a lot of things going on in my head, Abhishek helped me out early on and then Tilak as well.
Team India played their last and final match of the South Africa series at the Wanderers Stadium, Johannesburg. Abhishek Sharma, Sanju Samson and Tilak Verm,a played a tremendous knock in the final match of the series, the record breaking partnership between Samson and Tilak helped India to a target of 283/1. Smson scored 109 runs off 51 balls whereas Tilak scored 120 runs off 47 balls. The Men in Blue put up a target of 284 runs for the Proteas to win the match in Johannesburg which they failed to win, to that India won the match by 135 runs and series by with a 3-1 win.
