Venkata Raman Suggests Tendulkar for BGT: Can India Turn the Tide?
India is set to play the Border Gavaskar trophy in Australia, starting November 22. Australia is the same team, India has lost two ICC trophies against that too in the same year. The upcoming BGT series in very important for India because the outcome of this series will decide, whether India will reach the final of the World Test Championship or not. Recently, Former coach Varkeri Venkata Raman has put forward a suggestion on social media that has created a stir on social media.
Vurkeri Raman has advised the BCCI to send Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar to Australia as a batting consultant for the Border Gavaskar Trophy. The former women's coach said India could benefit from Tendulkar's expertise, and his partnership could be effective if given enough time before the second Test.
The former Indian women's coach wrote on X, "I think if Sachin Tendulkar joins Team India as a batting consultant in the preparation of the Border Gavaskar Trophy, then the team can benefit. There is enough time between the first and second Test. It is now common practice to add to the team as consultants. Should it be considered?"
The Test series between India and Australia will begin on November 22. The first Test will be played in Perth. India has already announced the team for this series. At the same time, Australia also announced a 13-man squad for the Perth Test on Sunday. After losing 0-3 to New Zealand at home, Team India is in danger of being out of the race for the final of the World Test Championship.
