'Unacceptable': Darren Sammy lashes out at Alzarri Joseph's behaviour
Former West Indies player and current head coach Darren Sammy has disapproved of Alzarri Joseph's behaviour during the third ODI against England. During the match, fast bowler Joseph walked out of the ground after a dispute with captain Shai Hope.
During the fourth over of the game, Joseph was unhappy with the field placement and was seen arguing with Hope. On the fourth ball of the over, Joseph dismissed Jordan Cox by catch out but did not celebrate with his team and immediately returned to his mark. At the end of the over, Joseph walked off the field without informing and went straight to the dressing room, forcing West Indies to start the fifth over with only ten fielders.
Joseph returned to the pitch at the start of the sixth over but did not resume bowling until the 12th over. He bowled two more overs and there were two misfields during his bowling that gave England two runs via overthrow, after which he left the field again. He later returned to bowl two more overs in the middle overs and bowled his remaining three overs in the death overs as well.
Speaking to Talksport after the match, Sammy said, "This kind of behavior is unacceptable on my cricket field. We'll stay friends but that's unacceptable in the culture I'm trying to create. We will definitely talk about it."
