5) Martin Guptill 

Former New Zealand cricketer Martin Guptill always provided a strong start to his team as an opener, which allowed other batsmen to settle down. Guptill made his debut in 2009 and played a total of 122 T20I matches. He amassed a total of 3531 runs, which included two hundred and twenty fifties. Guptill announced his retirement from the format in 2023. 

4) PR Stirling 

Ireland cricketer PR Stirling has played 147 T20I matches so far and has 24 fifties and one century in the format. Stirling made his T20 debut in 2009 against Pakistan. He is Ireland’s current white-ball captain and is second on the list of hitting most fours in the T20I. Till now, Stirling has scored a total of 3655 runs in the format.

3) Babar Azam

Former Pakistan team captain Babar Azam is one of the most fantastic T20 batters. He made his T20 debut in 2016 and has played 123 matches so far and compiled 4145 runs, which includes 36 fifties and three hundreds. Babar Azam mostly plays anchor innings for his team and is the first batsman to score three hundred as captain during his tenure. He also holds the record for scoring the fastest 3,000 runs and has hit the most fours (440) in the format. 

2) Virat Kohli 

The Indian veteran Virat Kohli is one of the greatest T20 batsmen. He has clutched several matches for India in the format by playing notable innings. Kohli made his T20 debut in 2010 and played 125 matches, amassing 4188 runs before retiring. “King Kohli” has 38 fifties and one hundred in the format. He played a crucial innings of 76 runs against South Africa in the final of the T20 World Cup 2024. The team won the match by 7 runs and ended their ICC trophy drought, after which Kohli announced his retirement.

1) Rohit Sharma 

The Hitman Rohit Sharma is the only player on this list who has played the T20 format since its inception in 2007. Rohit went on to become one of the most dominant batters of this format, amassing a total of 4231 runs in 159 matches during his career. Rohit retired from the format with five hundred and 32 fifties, with 121* being his best score. Rohit Sharma also announced his T20I retirement after clinching the 2024 World Cup.
