Rajat Patidar's Injury Puts RCB in Crisis Ahead of IPL Resumption
RCB captain Rajat Patidar's finger injury has caused a major setback to the team. He could miss the initial IPL matches and if his injury doesn't heal, then Virat Kohli or Jitesh Sharma could be made the captain.
IPL 2025 is scheduled to resume on Saturday. The league was suspended for a few days due to the conflict between India and Pakistan. The first match after the resumption of the league will be played between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kolkata Knight Riders.
However, before the resumption of the league, the RCB team has suffered a major setback in the form of their captain Rajat Patidar. According to a report, Rajat's finger injury is taking a lot of time to heal and he may miss out on a place in the India A team for the tour of England.
Also, he may miss some IPL matches after the resumption, as he has been advised to wear a split to protect his injured finger. If his finger takes time to heal, he may miss a few matches but if RCB qualifies for the playoffs, there is a possibility that he can make a comeback.
If Patidar misses a few matches or is ruled out of the tournament, RCB will have to find a new captain and Virat Kohli could be an option. He took charge of RCB till the 2021 season and his experience is very important for the team at this time. RCB may also choose Jitesh Sharma in place of Kohli, who was supposed to lead the team against LSG, but the tournament got postponed. He was the vice-captain of PBKS last season so he can be a good option for RCB.
