Rajasthan Royals spinner Kumar Kartikeya has quashed all rumours of a feud with Virat Kohli during the match against Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 2025. There was a slight misunderstanding during the match between Kartikeya and Kohli, due to which Kohli stared at the Rajasthan spinner. However, after the match, Kartikeya confirmed that there was no serious argument between the two. In fact, Kohli went up to him and praised his bowling.
The incident between Kohli and Kartikeya happened during the 9th over of RCB's batting, when the 27-year-old spinner took the wicket of Kohli's opening partner Phil Salt. While celebrating the wicket of Salt, Kartikeya was stared at by Virat. However, now Kartikeya has clarified what exactly happened.
In a video posted by the official Instagram account of Rajasthan Royals, Kartikeya was seen saying, "Actually, when Phil hit a six, Virat bhai shouted 'come on', so I saw him, he saw me. I didn't say anything at that time, then when I got out, I put my hand up and said 'come on' and he looked back. So I said, 'Brother, I am not speaking to you'. Then he came and shook my hand, 'Okay, well bowled'. "
Salt scored 65 runs in 33 balls in that match and formed a 92-run partnership with Kohli. RCB won the match easily by 9 wickets. "It's always a pleasure to contribute to a win, especially away from the game," Salt said in the post-match presentation. "
This was Bengaluru's fourth win. With four wins and two defeats in six matches, RCB is currently third in the points table. Rajasthan Royals have won only two out of six matches in IPL 2025 so far and are eighth in the points table.
