The Unnao rape victim arrived at the protest at Jantar Mantar with her mother. They were protesting against the court’s decision and demanding a harsh punishment for the convict. The victim’s mother also demanded the death penalty for Kuldeep Sengar. The protest was peaceful initially, but the atmosphere became tense after some time.

During the protest, a man in the crowd started chanting slogans in support of the BJP. The victim’s mother objected to this. Amidst the chanting and arguments, her health suddenly deteriorated, and she fainted. People present at the scene immediately attended to her. Seeing the situation escalating, the Delhi Police, for security reasons, moved her to a location away from the protest site.

Meanwhile, some people arrived at Jantar Mantar carrying placards in support of Kuldeep Sengar. It was reported that these people identified themselves as being associated with a ‘Men’s Commission’. A heated argument ensued between the victim’s supporters and those supporting Sengar, further escalating tensions. The situation was brought under control in the presence of the police and media.

The protest at Jantar Mantar was against the Delhi High Court’s decision to suspend the life sentence of Kuldeep Singh Sengar, who was convicted in the 2017 Unnao rape case. The victim and her supporters said that they were deeply shocked by this decision.
Victim Makes Serious Allegations

The victim spoke out after the CBI challenged the High Court’s order in the Supreme Court. She said she has complete faith in the Supreme Court and hopes to receive justice there. The victim alleged that if the CBI had taken strict action earlier, the accused would not have been granted bail.
She emotionally recounted the continuous hardships her family has faced. The victim stated that the security provided to her family members and witnesses has been withdrawn. She also alleged that her husband lost his job and her children no longer feel safe.
