Stock Market Today 15 Oct: Indian stock markets opened in the green today. Buying was seen in the IT and financial services sectors in early trade. At around 9:27 am, the Sensex was trading at 82,354.32, up 324.34 points or 0.40 per cent, while the Nifty was trading at 25,248.80, up 103.30 points or 0.41 per cent.

Among broadcap indices, the Nifty Midcap 100 gained 0.54 per cent, and the Nifty Smallcap 100 gained 0.24 per cent. On the sectoral front, the Nifty Auto gained 0.32 per cent, Nifty IT 0.79 per cent, Nifty PSU Bank 0.54 per cent, Nifty Financial Services 0.36 per cent, and Nifty Pharma 0.19 per cent.

Market experts said the market’s decline is posing challenges due to a lack of positive cues and renewed selling by FIIs. Second-quarter results are unlikely to change market sentiment, as corporate sales were impacted in September due to the pushback of purchases following the GST rate cut. Automobile and home appliance sales are growing rapidly, and this demand will continue in a period of low interest rates, with further rate cuts expected.
